Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic has rearranged the world, changed perceptions and challenged humanity. Higher education around the world has had to quickly adapt its forms of work and build new approaches to the teaching process. In Bulgaria, this has happened successfully, and according to the experience of the last two years, there has been an increase in the capacity to work in the electronic environment of all universities. On the one hand, this is due to the established traditions in distance learning, on the other hand, to the professionalism of teachers and on the third hand, to the adaptability and digital competencies of Bulgarian students.

The University of Library Studies and Information Technologies has provided the most accessible environment for all participants in the learning process and relied on the individual approach of each teacher. This decision made it possible to use different forms of work according to the specifics of the discipline taught and the readiness of students.

The aim of the report is to present elements of the work with students studying in the field of library and information specialties at the university and in particular in the teaching of topics related to bibliotherapy.

The topic of bibliotherapy is poorly discussed in the Bulgarian scientific space, the publications are translated or reveal good international practices and positions of scientists from around the world. In-depth research on the subject is scarce and sporadic. With the growth of the possibilities of the Internet, in recent years the number of publications on the Internet has drastically increased, which promote the therapeutic function of reading. These publications are largely written by non-specialists.

According to the results obtained during the global pandemic and the transition to online learning, online publications proved to be a useful resource. In the training of librarians, they are used sparingly and are not imposed as a successful practice, but in a period of global pandemic and change in the forms and environment of training, they have proved to be an interesting and provocative resource.
