Abstract:
In recent years, online learning has become an inseparable element of the world's education systems, mainly because of the rapid rise of technology and its positive effects on education quality and accessibility, as well as the recent pandemic, COVID-19. It became a need for educational infrastructure support and has changed how instructors and students think about teaching and learning. According to research, course structure, student engagement, learner interaction, and instructor presence all have a significant role in student satisfaction and perceived learning in online learning settings. This matter led service providers to enhance the learning environments to create a more interactive, engaging, and supportive environment that gets endorsed and welcomed by the students and instructors. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of several recent technological advancements that have contributed to the success of the educational process and online learning. The adaptation of AI in the education sector is under evaluation and implementation to help collect, organize and personalize the learning experience. This paper presents some AI-based solutions that benefit online learning platforms to deliver students a pleasant learning experience. Considering Arabic as the official language of 22 countries, spoken by more than 400 million speakers, and the 4th most used language on the internet, we tried to consider the challenges that Arab students and instructors mainly deal with through online learning. There are great initiatives in the Arab World to push the boundaries of education. Saudi Arabia is embracing Vision 2030 by reforming its educational system to identify and train talented students for a knowledge-based economy, demonstrating the significance of equipping learning settings with cutting-edge technologies. We have been analyzing various research and development (R&D) conducted by Arab researchers investigating the effectiveness of AI-based e-learning environments for improving learning processes. The presented features within this paper are the results of the R&D conducted by the TechClass AI Department to bring more intelligent approaches to the TechClass Learning Management System (LMS). We discuss how these features can effectively improve student and instructor interaction, course materials, and learning experience.
