Abstract:
Lerrotuz is an educational innovation project for the 2022/2023 academic year aligned with strategies around three fundamental axes such as learning, research and sustainability, promoted by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). This initiative uses the Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) methodology, as it addresses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the teaching of drawing in the Faculty of Fine Arts, combining skills linked to the use of new technologies and professionalization. In this methodology, research is an essential aspect that favors disruptive approaches in the teaching-learning process aimed at proposing creative and practical solutions to current problems.

The aforementioned project is framed in three courses offered in different degrees, and focuses on the development of students' autonomous learning. In this way, students are fully aware of their learning process, adjustments and regulations required at all times. This awareness also extends to the answers they propose in terms of the challenges addressed, so that critical thinking, innovation and creativity are key features to articulate solutions that fit the realistic and sustainable limits established from the start. Moreover, students obtain a closer insight of the impact that their contributions can cause on their immediate environment, relating what they have learned to the reality they experience today.

On the other hand, the acquisition of skills related to the use of digital technology applied to drawing provides students with updated resources linked to the professional creative field. The relationship with the job market is further strengthened through networking sessions with freelancers, companies and institutions, which are necessary when it comes to shaping the professionalizing dimension of this proposal.

This paper presents the implementation of the methodological keys, both of the CBL and those coming from the professional field in the Lerrotuz project, including particular initiatives carried out in the courses linked to it. All in all, the educational innovation strategies are developed with the aim of generating a meaningful learning space around drawing where current problems that require innovative, feasible and committed solutions to the SDGs are faced.
