Abstract:
Modern reality has made adjustments to the work of all the world’s educational institutions and research institutes. We all faced challenges related to how to further implement the activities that have already become familiar to us, how to establish continuous work, and most importantly, how to advance and develop in the current circumstances.

2020 has become a year of challenges for many, but despite the global constraints, communication and collaboration have become more accessible and desirable than ever.

RUDN University is ranked 88th in the world in the subject area “Modern Languages” and is in the top 101-150 in “Linguistics”. In the proposed article we give the review of RUDN Institute of Modern Languages, Intercultural Communication and Migration (IMLICaM) activities aimed at enhancing the academic reputation of the university and promotion in the subject ranking of Modern Languages and Linguistics.

The aim of the article is to describe how IMLICaM organized its activities in times of confinement (joint research, enhancing reputation and establishing close business relationships, etc.). We discuss challenges and issues world academic community faces and speak about our steps to success.
