Abstract:
Teachers' job (dis)satisfaction is an important aspect of the teaching profession that influences the subjective experience of teaching in primary and secondary schools. Teachers are often faced with a large amount of work outside of the classroom. Administrative duties divert their attention and energy that could be devoted to preparing for class or to the pupils themselves. Research suggests that women tend to take on more additional responsibilities towards school and pupils, which can also increase their workload. Their subjectively experienced high workload and stress can eventually lead to burnout or anxiety. This study provides a theoretical basis for examining the prevalence, causes and ways of coping with workload in relation to the health of Slovak male and female teachers. Pre-research allows to establish hypotheses and to consider all the circumstances that need to be accepted in this issue. The focus is on mapping the job satisfaction of female and male teachers and the sources and ways of coping with workload. The resulting research instrument will consist of selected items from standardized tests (Petlák & Baranovská, 2016; Mlčák, 1998; et al.).
