Abstract:
The article is an instructional design based on experience teaching courses in Thermodynamics and Thermal Engineering Career Technology at Universidad Simón Bolívar. Arises from reflection on the use of cooperative learning strategy used to approach the contents of these subjects primarily based on the laws of thermodynamics applied to mechanical systems and aircraft maintenance technology, a strategy which in turn contributes to the development of skills social relations as positive interdependence, interaction, self and other, which will be of great use in future job performance of these professionals. It addresses the teaching of subjects in the area of energy, social skills, cooperative learning, resulting in these key aspects of the proposal, which may be applicable to teaching other sciences. The instruments are used (Chae, 1997 and EAL-M, 2009) for studying the subjects to identify their profile of learning styles and attributions about academic success or failure, and their relation to group work. This allowed to guide efforts to the characteristics of students reinforcing those profiles that showed a tendency to work in teams and encouraging those who had tendencies (competitive, individualistic, impatience or self-sufficiency) to participate actively in work group to take advantage of it . We conclude that this proposal promotes the acquisition of instructional skills what promote academic achievement and the acquisition of learning in which activities stimulate peer interaction, positive interdependence and shared responsibility, which are key to the exercise of technology profession in today's society.
