Abstract:
The aim of each respectable university is high quality and studies oriented towards the needs and international trends of national and international labour markets. In order to educate creative, active, open-minded and exposed to challenges of globalizing world citizens, Vilnius University, Faculty of Economics is also striving towards implementation of studies, which would convey not only knowledge and skills, but also University’s culture and traditions, argumentative and critical thinking, ability to solve problems, strive towards relentless innovation, understanding, acceptance and toleration of the diverse world and society.
All this, requires constant review, updating and improvement of study programmes and methods applied, with respect to environmental realities, social partners’ involvement into programme development and study process, enhancement of teachers’ qualifications and competencies, attraction of new talent and building of career management. Thus, the aim of this article is to present the practice of Vilnius University, Faculty of Economics in valuation of theoretical and practical compliance of the programmes currently implemented with labour market needs. Article will discuss two factors, which are implemented in order to sustain and improve study quality at the faculty, and at the same time introduce concrete results of study quality valuation.
