Abstract:
ChatGDP is a widely discussed platform, especially in education (Adeshola & Adepoju, 2023). Manifold attempts are underway to support learning by including ChatGDP or to limit its use. Business simulations are a popular tool that allows students to engage in realistic and interactive business scenarios, providing them with hands-on experience in decision-making, problem-solving, and strategic planning. However, business simulations are known for decades (Goi, 2018). However, little is known so far about the interplay of ChatGDP in context to business simulations (Cribben & Zeinali, 2023).

Gamification in form of the use of business simulations sketch real-world business scenarios, to gain valuable insights into the complexities and interrelations of running a successful enterprise without a real-world financial risk. In this context, ChatGDP might offer an accelerated learning experience that prepares students for the challenges of the modern business world. This research explores in a case study the potential benefits and limitations of integrating ChatGDP into decision-making processes in course of a multi-period business simulation conducted in winter semester 2023-2024. The aim is to evaluate its usefulness in context to complex problems and preparing students to apply critical thinking.

The business simulation is based on group work so that each group represents a company, which ultimately compete against each other based on their individual set of decisions. Theoretical knowledge is applied in practice to build up competencies in entreprenneurial thinking, complex problem-solving under time pressure.
