Abstract:
Computational thinking is currently a frequently discussed concept and the subject of many scientific publications and research. The good accessibility of the internet connection and the large number of actively connected mobile devices together bring new potential in the field of education and development of computational thinking. Web and mobile applications thus seem to be a suitable form of e-learning at universities for students and also teachers. A wide range of quality applications can be considered as a good educational platform for self-study, initiation of initial motivation, and also support the development of computational thinking. In the context of the Digital Education Strategy to 2020 and the upcoming reform of the ICT curriculum in the Czech Republic, the development of computational thinking is one of the key areas. Together with the development of digital literacy, it is one of the seven main lines of intervention aimed at fulfilling the main vision of the strategy. So what are the approaches to using web and mobile applications in teaching algoritmization and programming at selected universities in the Czech Republic and abroad? We respond to this question in our international research.
