Abstract:
The essence of the submitted project is the research of the development of the knowledge and skills of the pupils with mild intellectual disability via the inquiry-based learning. The accent was laid not only on the results of learning, i.e. on the acquired knowledge and skills, but also on the formative processes – on the development of the ability to solve problems. Therefore, the basic research question is in what ways is it possible to acquire and develop the skill to solve problems and other related knowledge among the pupils with mild mental disability. Other questions would be: “how should the teacher evoke the problem situation?”, “how should the teacher develop the pupil’s perception of the problem?”, “how should the teacher support the pupil’s willingness to deal with the problem and the willingness to solve the problem?”, “how should they manage and simulate the problem solving process?”, or “is this application of problem-solving beneficial for the development of knowledge and permanency of their acquirement?”.
