Abstract:
The main goal of this paper is to present an example of city prevention programme aimed at safety in the city designed and implemented in the city of Cracow in 2018-2020. Introduction will give some information about broader programme “Safe Cracow” and its modules such as: safe traffic, safe space, safe school and help. Special attention will be given to its school focused module “Safe school”. It will be described giving main assumptions and rules that were taken into account when preparing this module. Paper will also show how the programme was designed with reference to recent research on city and school safety with special attention paid to ideas of resilient city and sustainability. On such a basis some examples of practical actions undertaken will be shown with special attention to cooperation of social services as main feature of the programme. Example of practical work with group of 30 schools will be presented and discussed with some practical recommendations for further improvement of such programmes of school based interprofessional prevention work.
