In the past, students needed to work hard in their high school courses so they could be ready for college. Today students as young as Middle School are preparing for their college education. Over the past three years the Presidents of three local colleges and universities along with top educators of each institution came together to create the 30,000 degrees initiative whereby in the year 2025 the goal will be to have 30,000 college graduates from a local area in New York City. This initiative has and will continue to work with various primary and secondary schools on joint programs with the higher educational institutions in order to maximize all students’ ability to be fully prepared for a college education. In this article, the author will introduce the reader to the undertaking of this project, identify the background history of 30,000 degrees as well as walk you through the next steps to fulfill the 2025 goal of this major project. Keywords:
