Abstract:
Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming how knowledge is produced, delivered, and assessed in higher education. While early discussions focused on generative AI as a learning aid, emerging evidence shows that cognitive automation now affects administrative, pedagogical, and organizational dimensions simultaneously. This paper advances an integrative analytical framework to examine how AI-driven cognitive automation is reshaping the structural logics of the university as an institutional ecosystem. Rather than presenting a list of discrete interventions, the study synthesizes evidence-based patterns and scenario-based projections to explain systemic transformations in university organization. Findings identify four evidence-based structural patterns: acceleration of student learning cycles; a shift toward authenticity-based assessment; reconfiguration of the physical campus; and the rising importance of high-value human competencies. Scenario-based projections suggest a transition toward hybrid university ecosystems in which automation handles routine processes and faculty focus on complex, human-centered work.
