Abstract:
Nowadays teachers are subjected to professional burnout to a greater or lesser extent. Despite the fact that the marriage system is rather private, it is interesting whether there is a correlation between the professional burnout syndrome of teachers and their marriage satisfaction. Moreover, it is important to explore the correlation of teachers’ professional burnout with extraversion or introversion and emotional stability.
The following methods were used in the study: Maslach Burnout Inventory (Maslach & Jackson); Marriage Satisfaction Survey (Romanova & Butenko); Eysenck’s Personality Inventory (EPI).
A statistically significant negative correlation was found between the professional burnout syndrome of teachers and their marriage satisfaction (r= -.476, p<.01). There is a statistically significant negative correlation between the signs of professional burnout syndrome in teachers and their marriage satisfaction – reduction of personal accomplishments (r=-.483, p<.01). There is a statistically significant negative correlation between the teachers’ marriage satisfaction and neuroticism (r= -0,352, p<.05) – the higher the level of neuroticism, the lower the marriage satisfaction. There is a statistically significant positive correlation between the professional burnout syndrome in teachers and the level of neuroticism (r= .349, p<.05) – the higher the level of neuroticism in teachers, the higher the level of their professional burnout. Keywords:
