Abstract:
This paper presents an active learning technique that proposes the creation of group posters for teaching a seminar within the Computer Architecture Systems course within the Computer Science degree at the Universitat Jaume I de Castelló, Spain. In this seminar, which focuses on storage devices and file systems for data centres, students work in groups of 4 to 5 people who select a topic to produce a concrete and concise report and an A0 poster. The seminar emphasises collaborative learning, with each group member taking a role in completing the report and poster using collaborative online tools. At the end of the seminar, the groups present their posters to the rest of the class, who vote on various aspects of the poster's quality and presentation. This approach is an effective way of encouraging active learning, critical thinking and collaboration among students. By fostering a learning environment that encourages students to explore technical topics in a creative and engaging way, the results of this seminar demonstrate that it helps students develop practical skills in researching, presenting and communicating technical information related to storage devices and file systems for data centres. Keywords:
