Abstract:
Not only the past period marked by teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the need to develop digital literacy for pupils and teachers, as they are now confronted with several digital educational resources that can be used in teaching. The teacher should be able to navigate these resources, cope with their diversity, and effectively identify those resources that best suit his or her stated learning objectives, group of students, and teaching method. A digitally competent teacher must be able to implement teaching activities with the support of digital technologies aimed at developing students' independent learning and group work. On the other hand, based on the requirement of curricular documents in the Czech Republic, the pupil must have a certain level of digital literacy, and therefore the teacher must develop it in all subjects at the 1st stage of primary school. The paper aims to present the possibility of non-standard activities for the development of digital literacy of pupils "QR Code Cubes". The essence of this activity is the creation of QR codes that correspond to the assigned numerical problems on the hexagonal dice. The activity was tested with eight-year-old students who worked in groups. The paper reflects the complete course of the activity - examples of assigned tasks, their solution in groups and feedback from students. Overall, it can be assessed that a similar activity, due to its unconventional nature, had a strong motivational character, its concept developed their digital literacy (acquaintance with the nature, use and creation of QR codes) and could be a very suitable topic for teachers looking for other activities to connect digital pupils' abilities in mathematics. Keywords:
