Abstract:
The goal of this paper is to identify teaching methods using in primary pre-service teachers training. We assume that prospective teachers have to have experience about new teaching methods during their pre-service studies. We have to offer them principles which they should use in future teaching practice: interlinking topics, not isolating mathematical patterns, true motivation, real-life experience, acquiring knowledge through discussion, avoid unnecessary anxiety etc. We would like to follow experiences, which may enrich our approach to teacher education with new ideas. We aim at addressing the different opportunities and challenges we meet in teacher mathematics education. The second part of the paper presents the results from the survey, which was done in April 2017 at department of mathematics, Palacký University in Olomouc. Teachers of all mathematics subjects were involved to obtain the best model of teaching methods, but in this paper we especially focus on primary school mathematics – which is using most, which is missing etc. We take it as the opportunity to make reflection of our work and to improve mathematics pre-service teachers training.
