Abstract:
Mobile learning is an emerging teaching methodology which offers learning opportunities anywhere and anytime. The use of mobile technology in the learning process has increased in the past years, and especially now during the Covid-19 pandemic. While there are many benefits of combining traditional education with mobile learning, the development of learning materials suitable for mobile devices is expensive and may cause some difficulties for educators.

The paper presents a conceptual model of a System for design and development of multimedia m-learning resources. The system offers tools for development of multimedia m-learning resources based on common templates, that will enable educators to create own teaching materials that are best fitted for the purposes of their teaching subject and provide students with alternative ways to present the learning content. The teacher can choose from a repository of ready-made templates for design of multimedia m-learning resources, add images or text, create simple animations that illustrate objects and processes. The system is user-friendly and can be used by users with no previous experience in developing multimedia resources.

The presented conceptual model provides an initial basis for the structure and architecture of the system and describes the important aspects of the functionalities of the software. It is created by taking into account the basic principles in the design and development of multimedia resources for the purposes of mobile learning and the specifics of presenting digital objects and the access to them from smart devices.

Based on the conceptual model, a working prototype of a System for design and development of multimedia m-learning resources will be developed. Multimedia learning resources for mobile devices will be created, followed by a pilot experiment.
