Abstract:
Objectives:
Paper aims to present a new approach in earthquake school education, an integrated and interactive educational initiative in the field of seismology and of engineering seismology in Romania, The Romanian Educational Seismological Network –ROEDUSEIS. Its educational, scientific and social objectives contribute to raise the seismic awareness and the use of seismic data in the understanding of structural behaviour, to maintain high levels of scientific accuracy, while employing best educational practices. It is facilitating the interaction between students from elementary and high schools, as part of the scientific work, and teachers and scientists being part of the teaching and research activity.

Methodology:
The project efficiency deals with the extent to which education reform in Romania reaches its aims. The most important aspect is the transition from theoretical presentation of most of the real disciplines on a more practical level. By learning about seismology, then creating building models and making experiments in order to explain the behaviour of engineering structures, under Romanian seismic conditions, the students realize that almost all territory is strongly seismic and they must cope with this and they should became self-confident because of participation and self-involvement.
In SeismolabIII from National Institute for Research and Development URBAN-INCERC, created within ROEDUSEIS project, there is no difficulty for students and teachers to access the research infrastructure dedicated to the monitoring and evaluation of seismic disasters with effects on natural and built environment, on vital networks, on population etc.

Conclusions:
There are many experiences of earthquake education and many ways of disseminating information related on the impact of earthquakes in countries with severe seismicity. Lessons and the effective measures taken to mitigate the effects on people depend on the dimensions of the seismic culture from each country and their projection in the practical preparedness measures. The educational process is complex, and because it is not just a collective reaction to the same cause, but also an individual reaction to the different effects of the same cause.
