Abstract:
The study of economics-focused linguistic phenomena appears problematic. The aim of the research is to analyze and systemize some aspects of this field of the research lying on the juncture of sociolinguistics and economics. In this framework, different variants of model analysis focused on performance evaluation of economic operators working on foreign-language markets are observed.

The authors study to what extent the language barriers complicate the access to foreign-language markets and how the linguistic competence can facilitate the business connections and the formation of cooperative networks.

The impact of the linguo-environment emotional background appearing in conditions of labor migration and the problems of “language distance” and the division of the society into language groups are emphasized.

It is shown that though the global economic interrelations tend to be centralized, in the field of linguistics we observe further distancing.
The authors implement the lexicostatic analysis and other empiric methods of quantitative estimation.
