Abstract:
The economic and social development of any country is related and influenced by the quality of relationships stablished in all sort of companies. Innovation and the use of technology can mean better business results, optimization of internal processes and strategic use of skills within the company. The role of the state and the connection with universities could help to define the success and the growth in the long term, and the university could have a strategic role providing the basis for relationships with businesses.

In this article it is analysed the application of the Triple Helix model in Spain. One of the aims of this model is to reflect the complexity of the concept of connection, by exploring the environment in which the relations between different agents develop. But it is also important to find the institutional mechanisms that enable this important transformation to take place. Hence, it can be a useful instrument for the analysis of the business, technical and educational context from various perspectives.

From other point of view, we can also say that the type of relationships stablished is an essential element in the development of the innovation strategy of companies. The technology could be transferred between universities and companies, and new incubators and spin-offs could arise. Then, this type of companies created from universities could help to transfer knowledge and scientific research to the business sector, helping to communicate better between the universities, the market and the society.
