Abstract:
In the article, a brief literature review is made on the content of STEM education and the possibilities for including children with special educational needs. The inclusion process requires skillful combination of traditional and innovative teaching, learning, and assessment methods, as well as approaches for successful communication with children and students aimed at developing their cognitive, social, and communicative skills. STEM education is suitable for promoting positive behavioral models, teamwork skills, social inclusion, optimal functioning, independence, autonomy, and coping in various everyday situations. STEM education for children with special educational needs is of paramount importance for their development and successful integration into society. In our article, we will explore the significance of STEM education for these children and the opportunities for their inclusion in this educational process. We will examine how traditional and innovative teaching and learning methods can be combined to support the development of their cognitive, social, and communicative skills. Additionally, we will discuss the importance of successful communication with these children and students, aiming to reinforce positive behavioral models, teamwork skills, social inclusion, and autonomy. By providing opportunities for participation in STEM educational programs, we can help these children realize their potential and integrate successfully into society.
