Abstract:
The requirements established by the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) have imposed major changes in the curricula of the different Degrees taught in the European Universities. Traditional teaching methods, based mainly on lectures, have been replaced by other teaching techniques focused on the active learning of the students and the promotion of participative strategies. In this paper a SWOT matrix (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) derived from the teaching experience of the authors is presented. The aim of the study is to analyze the factors of influence on active learning methodologies: identify weaknesses and strengths of the system to channel the opportunities and avoid the existing threats. Among the active learning techniques, the experience is focused on the team work in Engineering Degree. As result of the study an action plan for decision support, considering all actors involved in the learning process has been derived
