Abstract:
Student demography in Africa is such that it is virtually impossible for universities to accommodate all students today in the most favorable working conditions.

The second problem facing the African countries is the flow of outgoing Internet connections.
To help the African countries we have set up a mirror server, which makes it possible to make available the whole catalog of resources of IUTenLigne, but also the resources of the other Thematic Universities, locally. That is, universities that benefit from mirror servers can utilize resources with the local network that provides it with a comfortable throughput for everyone.

To do this, we physically install a server, in the university, on which all the resources are located.
Then we use, once a week, the server dialog with the servers in France to make an update if necessary resources. This ensures that students and teachers always benefit from quality and topical resources.

These servers have already been installed in several universities (Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Chad, Madagascar, ...)
The purpose of this presentation is to show the work that has already been done and the future developments that are envisaged in order to increase the base of resources made available. But also to be able to renew contact to continue the deployment of these servers in Africa.

It is obvious that the installation of this server requires a training of the teachers on the spot to the use of this server, but also to the creation of their own digital teaching resources. To share with them the experience we have gained during these years of work. Consider also the possibility for teachers in Africa to disseminate their work through this network that is being built.
