Abstract:
This article is devoted to the topic of e-testing to control foreign language competences of a future university graduate. The authors focus on the efficiency and innovative organization of e-assessment, emphasize its advantage not only in consolidating skills, but also in identifying students having gaps in communicative field. It is noted that the results of the tests give the teacher an excellent opportunity to adjust the further curriculum and conduct their work with students on poorly understood issues. Based on the analysis of the works of both Russian and foreign scientists, the authors emphasize the need to select tests that cover all areas of grammar, vocabulary and phonetics, reducing the randomness when students choose any of the answer options. An idea is grounded on the fact that electronic tests activate mental activity of students, train them to independent work and assiduousness. Besides the advantages of this method the authors trace such defects, as possibility to guess the correct answer, adaptation to work with the prepared formulations and absence of objective possibility to expose individuality of a student. Standards of electronic tests presented in the article are oriented to the detailed assessment of lexical and grammatical skills and can be applied on any stage of educating process. The use of such types of tests for self-control and selftuition on any stages of work with grammatical and lexical material gives an opportunity to the teacher and students to see the estimation of the taught and got knowledge. The article works out some totals of study of e-testing as by the most perspective and modern form of control of knowledge, that improves quality and mastering of the taught material necessary for further activity of a highly skilled specialist.
