Abstract:
From the school year 2015/2016, students of secondary vocational schools can decide to educate in the system of dual education, which will help them with a better job in the labor market. The dual education system is based on the cooperation of several parties such as students, school, parents and employers. The detailed relationship is enshrined in the apprenticeship contract regulating all the rights and obligations of the contracting parties in the practical teaching of the pupil and the concluded contract between the school and the workplace regulating the scope, conditions and coordination of vocational education with the apprenticeship contract. We can say that it adjusts and harmonizes the conditions of theoretical and practical teaching. Secondary vocational education in Slovakia is marked by changes in implementation, organization and political establishment, especially until 1989, when students learned with a direct connection to companies. Efforts were made to change and return practical training to companies by adopting the National Dual Education Project and increasing the attractiveness and quality of vocational education and training (National Dual Project), which was based on the Development of Secondary Vocational Education until 2015. 2015 is therefore a year of dual system implementation. Dual education is a modern and innovative way of preparing for a future profession directly on the employer's premises. Practical training takes place, in contrast to the traditional school method of teaching, in real conditions in the workplace of practical teaching, which should guarantee a broader, more detailed development of students' skills in accordance with the high demands of the labor market and employers. The paper reflects on the promotion of the need and greater involvement of schools in the dual education system and defines the benefits of such a way of teaching students in real conditions of employers.
