Abstract:
Employee training is a continuous process in which there is an adaptation and change in work behavior, the level of knowledge, skills and motivation of employees by learning through the use of various methods. The result is a reduction in the difference between the current competencies of employees and the requirements placed on them. The training process in the organization includes the identification of training needs, training planning, implementation of training and evaluation of training effectiveness. The goal of lifelong learning presupposes fundamental changes in the concept of ensuring the sustainable development of human resources. The basic key to success should be the degree of consistency between people's ambitions, the plans outlined by the institutions, together with local and regional plans, and the overall strategy of the state, which must ensure the quality of education. The paper is focused on the research of lifelong learning on a representative sample of employees of professional technical organizations in relation to the recommendations of the European Union and the Government of the Slovak Republic. The attention of the research was focused on finding out how, at what level and by what means the selected organizations participate in lifelong learning. The conclusions of the research and the subsequent discussion are formulated into recommendations for professional technical practice.
