Abstract:
Technical education in lower secondary education in primary schools in the Slovak Republic is realized in the educational field Man and world of work. The educational standard of that educational area covers the area related to a person's relationship to work, the need to acquire basic work skills and habits in different job areas. Education in this area is oriented towards the development of key competences of pupils, leads pupils to objective knowledge of the outside world, to shaping their attitude and values in relation to human work, technology and the environment. The objectives of technical education at the university in the field of cognitive, affective and psychomotor, the achievement of which must be proportionally balanced in education, led us to carry out pedagogical research. The research was aimed at verifying the impact of the development of psychomotor skills on the level of acquired knowledge of pupils in the 6th year in the subject of technology. Through the pedagogical experiment, we verified our proposed practical tasks and their impact on understanding and remembering knowledge from the selected thematic unit. The paper shall described the objectives and subject matter of the research, as well as the research methods used. After evaluating the pre-test and post-test, we processed and evaluated the obtained results using statistical methods. Based on the results obtained from the research carried out, we note that the inclusion of proposed practical tasks in the development of psychomotor skills positively influenced not only the development of pupils' skills, but also had a positive impact on increasing the knowledge level of pupils in the selected thematic unit of the subject of technology. At the end of the paper, the discussion of the obtained results is included and subsequently the conclusions and recommendations for the application of the issue in pedagogical practice are formulated.
