Abstract:
Introduction:
Great technological achievements in the past twentieth century - the creation of the Internet and information and communication technologies and having free access to them, have caused changes both in the way people communicate, starting new relationships in all sectors and activities, and in the functioning of society as a whole.
These radical changes have defined the state of modern society as an Information Society, whose main principle is that access to information is a basic human right, while information and communication technologies create preconditions for exercising it freely. Among the main features that characterize information society are that: information, knowledge and technology are becoming increasingly important; intellectual labour predominates; high employment in the services sectors is reported; it facilitates the lifelong learning process.
The scientific and technological revolution in the twentieth century has led to a qualitative change in international relations, to a new level of interdependence and internationalization, a phenomenon we all call globalization today.
Research:
The inevitable globalization has, of course, met with both the approval of its supporters and the disapproval of certain anti-globalization movements trying to halt the natural evolution of society.
It is these two trends in public attitudes, as well as the accompanying problems they inevitably face, that are a key factor for success in developing concepts and strategies for strategic planning and management of the new information society and the development of the world.
The proposed study makes a SWOT analysis of education in different periods of its modern development.
SWOT analysis is a well-known and a widely used complex method of strategic planning, which examines the strengths and weaknesses, the threats and opportunities in a system. Taking into account the factors in the external and internal environment that determine the competitive advantages and key vulnerabilities and thus affecting the functioning of the system as a whole, SWOT analysis serves the purpose of making all kinds of management and strategic decisions.
Educational and scientific area does not exist and does not function outside the social environment for development. For this reason, it cannot be separated from the problems of society.
Conclusion:
In this regard, taking into account the concept and the comprehensive nature of this new, wide range of processes in social development, this report aims to study the educational and scientific area in the conditions it exists today, namely - in the conditions of total globalization.
For this purpose, through the four components of SWOT analysis - strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and possible threats, the factors and forces that influence the functioning and development of the educational and scientific sector are studied and analyzed. Keywords:
SWOT analysis, education, science, globalization.
