Abstract:
For the very first time in the University of Granada, developed in the Faculty of Architecture, has carried out a teaching innovation project (TIP) where the scenography as a discipline directly related to the creation and construction of temporary spaces, has been the framework for the development of various activities.

From an interdisciplinary coordination of a group of professors and researchers from different departments related to the target: Architectural Graphic Expression and Engineering Department (Subject: Building Design), Department of Architectural Constructions (Subjects: Construction Technology, Composition and Technical Installations), as well as the Department of Drawing, with teaching in the Faculty of Fine Arts-(Subject: Drawing / Scenic Area), we develop a joint action concerning various university disciplines to the creation of theatrical space, experiencing new ways of teaching to improve the existing model and also shows new fields to developing the professional activity of architecture.

The stage design has characteristics that make it particularly rewarding for the student because of his relationship with literature, music or dance, research and communication space and scale scenic and nourished subjects, especially light, sound, time and communicative function, link it into space from understanding their own construction and codification of relevant visual message. Also at the time starting to study the proposed theme for the set-opera, ballet or theatre- the learner will have to study and link the various disciplines involved in the creative process with the architectural image that will house its staging.

It was suggested a practical learning by doing, so that the course, eminently practical, propose to create scenographies for an opera by Manuel de Falla on specific scenic areas of the city of Granada. The TIP, in addition develops other educational activities such as lectures of architects and designers sets, actors and researchers, and several visits to scenic areas and workshops where scenographies have been made. Also working with professional technicians and stage area allows the student to relate their studies to the real work experience, in order to materialize proposals. All this has helped the students to make contact with creation, visual communication strategy and construction of space.

We have especially emphasized on making models of the scenographies, as well as rendering, so that the detailed construction of space and the structure of visual communication are fundamental tools in student learning.

Worked like a network of experiences and insights that will facilitate the definition of a teaching method vertically from the theoretical to the practical expression. With the generated material in several formats (theoretical writing, images, audio, art projects and models) there have been made some publications and public exhibitions in historical buildings open to the general public, which show the work done by students and professors.
