THE ROLE OF SELF-DIRECTED LEARNING (SDL) MODEL ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT FROM VIEWPOINT OF EDUCATORS IN APPLIED SCIENCE CENTERS

Abstract:
One of the important objectives of the higher education system is efficient training to create skilled manpower for the society. Although universities and institutions of higher education have begun efforts in this area, but unfortunately due to inappropriate learning methods, curriculum and the needs of society as college courses, university graduates do not have the expertise and efficiency necessary to fill the jobs, because the learned they are not associated with the actual needs of the community. In this situation if they interest to be an entrepreneur, they can be learn how to manage their businesses. SDL as a learning way can be defined based on the learner's responsibility for their own learning. Self-directed learning (SDL) is a method of instruction that can be defined in terms of the amount of responsibility the learner accepts for his or her own learning. The learner’s readiness to engage in SDL is defined as ‘‘the degree the individual possesses the attitudes, abilities and personality characteristics necessary for self-directed learning”.The self-learning is a teaching method in leading educational institutions and systems, increasingly used.
The aim of this research is investigating the role of self-directed learning model on entrepreneurship development. Research method is descriptive and correlation method that Data were collected by survey and through questionnaire. The total population for this study was 390 educators in applied science centers in Western Azerbaijan province in Iran that random stratified used to collect 128 ones. To analyze the data is used SPSS software. The results of the correlation between research and entrepreneurship development suggests that age, continuity and stability of employment, motivation, creativity and job creation have a significant relationship with the development of entrepreneurship. Based on the results of the research, the collective effect of independent variables on the dependent variable of the regression suggests that the variables of employment and creativity have a positive impact on the development of entrepreneurship.
According to the results of prioritizing in increase self-confidence, educators can decrease graduate’s concern about starting a business failure with the correct training and they are confident in the launch business action.Keywords:
