Abstract:

In the framework of the economic change many small and medium sized companies have to face a transfer of ownership. This is a very complex process. However, at European level, there are few educational resources that focus on this subject. The Business Transfer Programme project funded by European Leonardo da Vinci programme has developed a tailor-made training programme for successors and transferors, which includes the Screening Tool as part of the e-learning educational methodology. This specific on-line tool is developed to facilitate the take-over process. The structure of the Screening Tool is oriented to the main aspects of the transfer process and is based on standardised questionnaires on the legal, economic and technical situation of the company. The tool enables a first evaluation of the take-over business and allows identifying further needs of information transfer
