Abstract:
Objective:
To reflect about aging process, especially in Latin America and Caribbean, focusing in Brazil as one of the countries that will be more affected by the impacts of such situation.

Methodology:
Literature research, studies, and United Nations reports (UN), economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Latin American and Caribbean Demographic Centre (CELADE), and other national and international organizations.

Results:
The Latin Amercia, especially Brazil is going thru substantial changes in its demography, leading the state and whole society to seek consistent and viable alternatives to face this situation.

Conclusion:
One way to face this reality is within educational concept and context, by the permanent education as viable strategy, based in elements, principles and goals aiming to promote in elder people humanizing values, as agents of own educative process.
