Abstract:
Ethics is concerned with all interactions between humans, including research on education, which, being part of human studies, might involve potential ethical problems. This article brings to the foreground aspects of designing and integrating research ethics into teacher training curriculum. Teachers should be able to assess current situation in terms of humanity, dignity and law as well as to conduct investigation according to standards of research ethics.

Aim of the research: to study how ethical norms of research are reflected in the content of teacher training programs and students’ bachelor papers in Latvia.

The authors have summarised various concepts of these issues provided by educational theorists in recent literature on ethical teaching and ethical research in educational sciences. Having made the analysis of the content of Latvian teacher training programs and the analysis of the content of students’ bachelor papers, the authors have developed recommendations for the improvement of the content of teacher training programs according to the ethical norms of a researcher which will help students to identify and solve ethical problems in both research and teaching activities as well to develop comprehensive knowledge and awareness of research cultures.
