Abstract:
The ability to make connections, to solve problems by looking at multiple perspectives, and to incorporate information from different fields, will be especially important for success in the future. It is very important to show links among the humanities, natural sciences, mathematics, social studies, music, and art. Music as part of children’s lived experiences is a tool for their expression of thoughts and emotions, verbal and non-verbal communication with adults and peers. An integrated approach to music teaching/learning promotes holistic education, with equal importance of fragmentation of subjects and intellectual knowledge as educational goals. A thematic approach to teaching/learning is presented as a way to replace fragmented music teaching with integrated contexts. A carefully selected topic serves as a focus for the activities of children in the process of integrative music learning.

The aim of the article: to determine methodological and theoretical basis of integrative music teaching/learning process in preschool.

Analysing different authors’ conceptions this study identifies factors of developing an integrated curriculum as well as gives an analysis of thematic approach as well as characterises integrated music teaching/learning curriculum in preschool.
