Abstract:
One of the factors determining the effectiveness of the educational process is the learning motivation of students. That is why issues related to the development of students’ motivation are still relevant for the pedagogy of higher education. This research aims to consider some effective educational technologies essential for the formation and development of learning motivation while teaching the English language to the second-year students specializing in Teacher Education and intending to be teachers of English in the future. The article describes the experiment conducted on the site of the Kazan Federal University on developing and intensifying the learning motivation through the use of such effective educational technologies as information and communication, communicative learning, project, gaming technologies, problem-based learning and case study. A survey held at the end of the term confirmed that the use of the mentioned above technologies, as well as certain methods and techniques of work, increased the motivation of students. Besides, the analysis of the results in the experimental group shows that the development of motivation leads to an improvement in students’ educational activity, proficiency level of the target language and educational autonomy.
