Abstract:

The paper presents the services provided by the Centre for Evaluating Socio-Educational Profiles, from the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. The Centre uses a portal to collect data and generate real-time educational profiles of middle and high school students. The instrument used is the school Success Porfile, a questionnaire based on the ecologival perspective, measuring the impact of factors pertaining to the individual's personality and environment (family, school, neighbourhood, peer group) on his/her school performance. The presentation is a demonstration of this process. The application supports multiple questionnaires, allowing us to collect data regarding students, teachers and schools. The results obtained by every student/classroom/school can be reported to the national average scores for comparison. The generated profiles are used to identify children in risk of school failure and include them in targeted intervention programs.
