Abstract:
In new generation radio systems to increase the speed of the information transmission the centimetre and millimetre wave signals are being used more widely. Radio communication channels of such ranges have specific features that have an effect on the performance of specific radio systems, for example, satellite communication and navigation systems, mobile communication systems, radars, etc. Therefore, the study and the research of such radio systems are highly relevant. However, not all higher education institutions have expensive measuring and technological equipment in the specified frequency ranges. In this regard, to solve this problem, the question of creating new teaching methods using information technologies (IT), as well as software tools and systems that implement these methods, arises.

This article is devoted to the development of virtual laboratory works for the study of modern radio systems with a user interface identical to real equipment from well-known world manufacturers.

The implementation of the virtual laboratory works is based on the Unity Game Engine and is a set of modules with their own models, textures and logic. Each module consists of a scene represented by 3D models. The interaction of models within a scene is described using the scene's program code. All physical calculations correspond to real ones and are presented in the form of equations and expressions written in the C # programming language.

It is shown that at present time there is a need for continuous learning throughout the life and the adaptability to changing environmental conditions. The use of new information technologies is seen as an important technological tool that can support such learning.
