Abstract:
Demand and supply of medical services are strongly conditioned by the level of knowledge of both, suppliers and consumers of medical services. Medical knowledge shapes the awareness of the use of medical services. At the same time, this knowledge determines the level of quality of medical services. Therefore, the process of education of medical personnel is very important. The more, this process accompanies medical personnel through the duration of the professional activity. It begins with education preparing for a specific occupation, and should be continued on the way to develop skills and the implementation of modern medical solutions. There is no doubt that accurate, reliable and the most recent source of medical knowledge should be the basis of education.

Modern science offers a wide range of sources of learning. The dynamic development of modern technologies causes the Internet an increasingly important and increasingly common source of knowledge.

The healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, midwives, paramedics, physiotherapists) are progressively more searching the global network resources for information required to perform their work. This is a great convenience, but also raises a number of challenges and threats.

Presented considerations include the issue of the functioning and use of the Internet portals designed for one group of medical staff - nurses.

This article aims to explore the educational role of these websites and assess their suitability for the professional group of nurses.
