Abstract:
The two most important world events of 2020 and 2022 (the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine) have changed people's basic values, with a special emphasis on health and peace in the world. Education in its essence is value oriented. And it is clear that values are the key to a real and meaningful education that allows students to understand themselves as individuals as well as real-world challenges to solve issues important to humanity. Values form the core of educational goals and strategies. Almost every education policy document emphasizes the role of education in promoting values.

Mathematics is one of the most important subjects that students learn at all levels of education. Understanding and competence of mathematics allows you to be more successful to enter the labour market, perform complex calculations and model significant processes. Learning mathematics helps to build accuracy, patience, immersion and logic. Unlike social studies subjects, it is very difficult to bring learning of values in mathematics, especially when the core values of today's students differ from those of teachers. In this context, the research was motivated by the question "Can technology help to bring learning of values into the classroom of mathematics?" The aim of the research is to create a synergy model of technology and values as a support system for educators, and as an example to offer an interdisciplinary innovative technology for accelerated learning of mathematics developed within the AI4Math project.

Survey data from 177 students were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS. It was found that AI4Math technology promotes the learning of values, which in turn has a positive effect on the interest and performance of learning mathematics, as well as evokes emotions and creates the best learning moments. The research helped to delve into the students' feelings and needs, as well as to develop a synergy model of technology and values in order to support educators on how to manage the learning process more effectively, gain the respect of students and promote higher quality of learning mathematics.
