Abstract:
The Covid19 pandemic turned 2020 into a digitally "crazy" year, and most of the world's students started learning in a new "school" - in their own homes. It turned out that distance learning is no longer an opportunity for the future that should be specially prepared, but it is a reality today that creates new opportunities and challenges for educational institutions. Today, technology is developing much faster than the education system, that brings anxiety in IT companies because they lack IT professionals and knowledge of mathematics. The aim of this study is to show to educators, companies and researchers the necessity of solutions of collaboration and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for high-quality and accelerated learning of mathematics in general schools.

To achieve this:
1) 15 problems, related to learning mathematics, which were discovered during distance learning in the spring of 2020, were highlighted, and
2) AI support opportunities were defined to stimulate the necessity of innovative learning approaches that meet the requirements of the "Fourth Industry".

The research is a collection of literature and experience with an interdisciplinary approach, using qualitative research methods of pedagogical process and students' attitude (focus group discussions, discussions and surveys of Latvian students, teachers and parents). The study found out that in collaboration with research in the field of neuroscience, it is AI that can develop deeper, faster, and more personalized learning by increasing the growth of each student. Educators need to develop their understanding of AI in order to accelerate the meaningful implementation of AI in mathematics education in collaboration with innovative companies and researchers.
