Abstract:
Digital literacy has become an essential skill for teachers today. In our undergraduate course "Software for the Modern Teacher", we aim to familiarize mathematics and computer teaching students with the possibilities of using digital technologies in various activities related to their future profession. At the beginning of the semester, students choose the topics they want to cover in the course. During the semester, they create web pages to share their work and evaluate each topic. We consider it important that the topics they address in the course are useful and meaningful to them. Our paper aims to analyze the feedback from students. In total, we analyze the websites of 40 students. Some of the topics covered in the course included mind maps, educational learning games, the use of artificial intelligence, augmented reality in education, etc. In this paper, we discuss in detail the findings of how students perceived these topics and the possibilities of using them in their future teaching. Based on our analysis, we will propose specific recommendations for improving the quality of teaching the course "Software for the Modern Teacher" in the future. Our findings may also serve as inspiration for teaching similar topics to other university educators.
