Abstract:
COVID19 pandemic is the most influencing global event of our lifetimes. As such, the pandemic has influenced people behaviour such as university students and professors who have been forced to respond to the new necessities in a very short period of time. In fact, it has been entailed a new challenge for the professor who has had to redesign the classroom from a traditional to a virtual way. This paper aims to understand how students are approaching the online classes and how they feel in order to understand better how to manage and organize online courses. To this purpose, a survey was conducted based on a customized questionnaire to collect data about university students in the second year of Architecture degree at Politecnico di Milano (Italy). The students were asked about how they manage to carry out group activities, advantages and disadvantages of online lessons among other questions. The collected data allow to obtain valuable information about their preferences, thoughts and behaviours in a systematic manner. Results will be very useful for the academic community not only for COVID19 times but also after pandemic, in order to prepare more motivating lessons to encourage students to learn not only during the lessons but also before and after them.
