Abstract:
The new era of knowledge, ways to compete and the need to innovate, has made knowledge and its management have taken on great importance. Knowledge, therefore, has become a strategic asset of the first order in the new business environment. Success is no longer measured by the traditional values of workload, capital inflow or acquisition of property; therefore the only sustainable competitive advantage is the creation of organizational knowledge and good management. This research will focus on the strategic implementation of the methodology and knowledge conversion model of Nonaka and Takeuchi (1995) for knowledge management. This tailored to the needs of Small and Medium Enterprises, addressing the elements and key factors for successful management and business success.

It will deepen the concepts of knowledge management and other business strategies that integrate best practices, to promote sustainable management methodology applicable to Small and Medium Enterprises, improving to current and traditionally used. Stressing that some companies have identified problems that have led to recognize the need to manage their knowledge (Lindvall, 2001). Among them, we can mention the large number of organizational knowledge is not documented and loss of consciousness that is produced when employees leave the company. Another factor is the increased mobility of employees, thereby creating a growing need to retain them, but above all, capture and retain their knowledge, which in turn has led to a growing demand for knowledge management.
