Abstract:
Children have always been fascinated with the scientific and technical aspects of everyday life. They overwhelm their parents with questions like: “Why doesn’t the Sun fall from the sky?”, “Why does the plane fly without flapping its wings?”, “What is the speed of darkness?” or “Why does the Moon change shape and size from night to night?”. Despite this natural curiosity, the number of students specializing in science and engineering decreases quasi-continuously. Is this a paradox or is it just appearance? The career choices of students who attend university studies are much more subtle and opportunistic.
In this paper we present methods of attracting preschoolers with the purpose of focusing their curiosity to the world of science, but also to strengthen the flux of young people towards universities that create specialists in top fields of research which insure technological progress.
The emphasized examples – abundantly found in day to day life – give rise to analysis and/or debate.
