Abstract:
In this paper we try to demonstrate how important and healthy a good relationship between the student and the teacher is, from the first years of elementary school to graduate school, the figure of the teacher is so important for education and society.

Teachers overcome obstacles every day. This profession requires various technical and technological skills that need to be learned at university, and other skills that go beyond the academic area that will serve as guides to help and understand students. Consequently, the role of the teacher goes far beyond the four walls of the classroom or a simple demonstration of knowledge to the students. Teachers are also responsible for teaching children and young people to work in groups, stimulating creativity and critical thinking, and providing students with the necessary help to achieve their goals.

The research sample for this paper consists of 1051 teachers between the ages of 28 and 68. The results show that 78% of the interviewees had good relationships with their former teachers, especially in elementary school, but in high school and undergraduate this percentage decreases. This information was collected in several regions of São Paulo (Brazil), our idea was to understand the positive and negative points generated in the lives of these students who are now professionals in the field of education, and what we can do to improve this relationship in an increasingly digital world.

The article is also concerned with the social and economic factors that these students were inserted, their relationship with their parents, and how much they influenced them, whether in the school, social, or family sphere in their choices. Another process presented was the socioemotional skills that became part of the basic curriculum of Brazilian schools, established by the Common National Curricular Base (BNCC), allowing them to be valued and encouraged within all schools, both public and private networks, this approach values and intentionally encourages the development of social and emotional skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and proactivity.

There is a global trend that evaluation is no longer the end, but the means to benefit the student's development, helping in their formative journey. In this article, we try to show how healthy this relationship between teacher and student is; this relationship is essential for the school experience to happen in a full and pleasurable way, because teaching and learning go beyond Paper, Board, Pencil, and Chalk.
