Abstract:
The growing awareness of the importance of transversal competencies — viz., personal attributes and interpersonal qualities such as communication, responsiveness and the ability to work in a team — to positively and effectively face the responsibilities of daily and professional life has stimulated university institutions in developed economies to plan specifically dedicated training activities.

Regrettably, the Italian university is late in responding to the specific training request that prepares graduates to carry out these new professional profiles. The reproach that is often leveled at the Italian university, that is, of being too academic and distant from the "world of work", depends largely on the lack of attention paid to this dimension.

The University of Turin represents a virtuous example in this regard. In recent times it has been heavily involved in raising the quality of teaching, has questioned how to meet a demand for training in profound transformation, incorporating the best international experiences and establishing a virtuous relationship with the world of work.

This contribution shows UniToSkillCase, a project of Universitu of Turin, and illustrates the preliminary reflections that emerged several years after its implementation.
