Abstract:
Music is one of the fundamental bases of the cultural life in a Country that wants to call itself: it is an essential and indispensable asset for the development of democratic society. Taking action means music act towards education, growth and awareness of those who live and work in society. This action constitutes a great opportunity by strengthening the education and skills development of each society, trying to change the future and contributing to the development of human capital. It is in this direction that the contribution would propose a brief reflection: through the main lines of music education in Italy, the Author will illustrate the main theoretical paths used in Italian curricula, with emphasis on the vision of the music as an instrument of growth and safeguarding social freedom and the value of the vocal and choir experience in the Italian school system of music education.
