Abstract:
A traditional problem treated by the classic mechanics in first university courses is the parabolic shot, which experimental analysis has allowed to some authors to raise different strategies. We want to rescue one of them, the Packard's plane, because in spite of its simplicity, it allows to the pupil to describe the path of the object in movement and typical variables as the scope or maximum height of the path.
Nowadays, we have attainable systems of recording video standard and programs of analysis of image, even free unload in Internet, which allows to the pupil a deeper analysis of the parabolic movement. In this work we have designed a laboratory practice that incorporates these new audio-visual technologies to analyze this movement using the original concept of Packard's plane.
The application of this new technology contributes a double benefit: it introduces the pupil in the use of new methods of measure and allows to the teacher to incorporate tasks that, without losing the experimental character, they have not presencial character promoting the personal and autonomous work of the pupil.
