Abstract:
The model of research instruction called Just-in-Time was examined in this study. The authors created a model to enhance teaching effectiveness of college level marketing course/s. This study involved several in-class research instructions over a one month period of time. A Marketing Professor and Business Librarian were the initiators of this project. The authors made formal presentations. Also the students were given individual research time and individualized assistance. Assessing and evaluating the progress that the students were making was ongoing. This allowed the authors to utilize the feedback to revise the content where needed. The authors piloted an online survey to assess the knowledge of the students and their use of reseach sources. What this study indicated was that collaborations with Professor and Librarian take the traditional class library visits much further. The students who took part in the Just-in-Time instruction demonstrated use of more resources, resulting in a higher quality of academic research.
